Life Gets Busy.

Life gets busy. Sometimes we just need to slow down and think. Take time for ourselves. Go for a walk. Really reflect on what we are doing in our lives.

I cannot believe that I have not posted in over a month, I was doing so well before. But I know I can get back into the swing of things, focusing on this blog and focusing on other important aspects in my own life.

Even though I was super busy this past month, I have done a few exciting things! A month ago, I hosted a “Friend Thanksgiving” and that went off super well. I cooked a bunch of delicious food, planned some games, invited a bunch of people, and did a little reorganizing of our house (moving the good furniture from upstairs to the basement and getting rid of random furniture from the basement). It makes a person feel good when they can de-clutter a little bit, but now we just have to find the perfect set of furniture to go upstairs.


Another thing I did was take a five day trip with my husband to Pittsburgh! This was so much fun and neat to experience a city that neither of us have been to before. Of course we went to a Pittsburgh Steelers game and a Pittsburgh Penguins game and those games were such an experience. I don’t even like football and that game was the “icing on top of the cake”! We did a few other things, like experience delicious restaurants (Primanti Bros tops the list), tour the science center and view a couple lookout points of the city. I would definitely go back again one day!


Even through busy times and exciting moments, it is good to take a step back and reflect. You want to stay mentally strong, as well as physically and emotionally. Some pointers to staying mentally strong are:

  • Write down a few things everyday that you are grateful for.
  • Celebrate your successes.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others and focus on yourself.
  • De-clutter; throw away or donate items that you haven’t used in a while.
  • Use more positive words and affirmations.
  • Cry when you have too.
  • Spend time alone as well as time with loved ones.
