Top Ten Coping Skills.


To begin, we should ask ourselves what mental health even is.

Mental health includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we make life choices, handle stress, and deal with others in our lives.

Help is always available in many forms. So many people deal with mental health in so many different ways. I am here to help; I believe you.

Coping skills are methods someone uses to deal with stressful situations that are going on in their life. Coping skills are awesome to use when dealing with mental health. Here is a list of my top ten coping skills that I use.

  1. Colouring in an adult colouring book. My absolute favourite is the Creative Therapy: An Anti-Stress Colouring Book.
  2. Writing in a journal.
  3. Taking a nap.
  4. Taking a walk around the block.
  5. Playing my favourite song and dancing around. My favourite song right now is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (this was also my wedding song).
  6. Going to the gym.
  7. Chewing gum.
  8. Cuddling and spending time with my two dogs.
  9. Practising yoga poses.
  10. Reading.
